Rosemary benefits

The herb Rosemary has so many wonderful benefits. It is impressive in cooking, rosemary adds a lovely flavor to many dishes. Rosemary goes beyond food though, it is also useful for aromatherapy. Rosemary has a distinctive aroma, it is known as the memory herb. It has a fresh herbaceous scent and has purifying properties. Rosemary is a evergreen shrub that is native the the Mediterranean. It is an ancient herb that has been used for thousands for years. 

The essential oil of Rosemary has a strong pungent scent with a hint of pine.  It is a natural antioxidant. It is very invigorating action. The Rosemary essential oil has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties.  Rosemary essential oil can help stimulate the circulatory system. A little of the oil mixed with a carrier oil such as olive or almond oil rubbed on your forehead can help with a headache by increasing your circulation. You can also make an infusion of Rosemary and drink it like a tea to ease headaches. Rosemary may help with digestion and low energy it can work as a tonic just pour some boiling water over some crushed leaves and steep for a few minutes, then drink. Rosemary essential oil can also help with aching muscles, add a few drops of the oil to a carrier oil such as olive oil or almond oil and rub into the skin. Another great use for Rosemary essential oil is to put a few drops on your shower floor it will work the steam in the shower to clear your head. I have made a rosemary soap with the essential oil, it is a great way to start your day, it helps to clear your head and get you ready for your day. It has been said that the stimulating action of Rosemary can help your memory too.

So you can see Rosemary is used for more than just cooking. It has wonderful useful properties.
